New website

Well it has rolled around to that time again, I am updating my website once more. It has been a while thins time, and there have been a lot of changes. We have moved to a new hosting provider (fatcow.com) who make administration simpler (although very different from the last provider!). They also run as a completely green, carbon neutral company, offsetting all the server farm power with wind energy. Happy days!

Welcome to itAccess.org’s website. We believe that information technology is key in providing access for everybody. What do we mean by providing access..? Well, we mean removing barriers in the world, so that all people have a level playing field and can access resources equally. We believe that technology liberates us all – allowing us to travel, learn and produce better than ever before. We want to use technology to improve relationships, organise information, and allow better lives for all of us.

In the spirit of ubuntu (african word meaning humanity – or I am what I am, because we all are who we all are), we prefer to use open source software and to be actively involved in developing open source projects.

Currently based in Ethiopia, we can work for anyone in the region, and also remotely by using Skype, Google Docs, Google Chat and other internet based collaboration tools.
